In the first World Cup in Burgas (France), April 22-27 was played 8 rounds of the Swiss system with 92 participants. The winner title was gained by young wunderkind 2009 year of birth International Master Matheo Boxum from the Netherlands, who undefeated scored same 12 points as famous International Grandmasters Alexander Shvatrsman (multiple times World Champion, Israel), Martijn Van Iselroorn (The Netherlands) and Arnaud Cordier (France). Matheo overcame his older and higher rated (so far) opponents by the tie-break Solkoff system criterias and gained a champion’s title.
In the women’s category first three places also were tied with 10 points and the winners positions were defined by tie-break criteria. The champion title was gained by the International Grandmaster and multiple time World Women Champion Natalia Sadowska from Poland, second place — Master Alise Misans from the famous Latvian family of draughts champions and third — young Ukrainian Vasylysa Kutsenko.
