From August 5 to 9 in Lebanon, TN, The National GAYP Checkers Championship was played. Players from Missouri, North Carolina, Indiana, Florida, Kentucky, Ohio, Massachusetts, as well as players from Czech Republic, Barbados and South Africa participated. Trophies and Medals in Masters, Majors divisions where awarded, as well as among youth. Round-Robin tournaments where played separately and among Majors the first place winner was Filip Kareta from Czech Republic with 32 points, second — Matthew Clark from North Carolina with 29 and 3rd — Andriy Shcherbatyuk from Florida with 29. In Masters Division from the first round Vadym Lapin was leading and Michel Holmes was a step behind on a second position until the last round. Nevertheless legendary Grandmaster from South Africa Lubabalo Kondlo after his 4:0 victory in final round has overtake Michael scoring equal number of points with Vadym — 18.

Bronze medal for Michael Holmes from Massachusetts (17 points), 2nd place for Lubabalo Kondlo from South Africa (18 points), and by mutual result and honors points US 2024 Checkers Champion is Vadym Lapin from Florida (18 points). Congratulation to Vadym and his coach Andriy Shcherbatyuk!
