On February 1st the Florida Youth Checkers Championship was hosted by sponsorship of Joe Schwartz and Pat Quartucci 4th year consecutively in Hollywood. This year — 2026 — it was organized by the joint efforts of the American Checkers Federation and the National Draughts Federation of the USA.
We are happy with this awesome celebration of youth intellectual sports and thankful to everyone who supported us with it.
Tense moments of exciting struggle and sincere joy from new achievements, as well as cheerful laughter in rest breaks between rounds — this is what inspires the continuation of the routine work of both coaches and young athletes. Most of them attend checkers classes in Sunville Academy where intellectual sports can be part of an education program for the kid.
Andriy Shcherbatyuk — the NSD-USA president, ACF District 4 manager and organizer of the Florida Youth Championship — works as a coach in Sunville Academy.
The development of children’s intellectual sports is one of the main goals of the NDF-USA and all the organizers of this wonderful event.
Special thanks to the parents for their support of the children’s desire for mental enrichment and learning intellectual sports. Even unusually cold weather for this region could not stop them! The skills and abilities acquired at such checkers competitions will certainly help children achieve high life goals in their future.
