Alexander Rudnitsky – Was born in Odessa (Ukraine) in 1948. Became a master of sports at the age of 15. Twice became the USSR champion among youth and students. His coaches were Mikhail Korkhov (international grandmaster and USSR Champion) and master Colman Turiy (both Odessa, Ukraine). Participant of the USSR finals, member of the USSR team, participant of international tournaments in Kutaisi and Samarkand. In 1995 he moved to the USA. Multiple time US champion, US grandmaster. World Champion in international draughts among veterans (Willemstad, Curacao, 2022), bronze medalist of the Pan-American Championship in 2007 (San Puolo, Brazil) and 2024 (San Jose, Costa Rica, 2024), vice-president of the National Draughts Federation of the USA. A successful businessman and entrepreneur, patron of checkers and organizer of checkers events. Supports the development of our beautiful intellectual game for many decades. Thanks to his efforts, 8 US National Championships of different years were held in Miami.
